Orcas in freedom

Punta Norte in Peninsula Valdés is one of the few places in the world where orcas carry out intentional stranding, a hunting strategy that requires perfect technique.

Did you know that orcas are extremely intelligent and even develop group culture? Bring your binoculars so you don't miss a single detail.

We depart from the city of Puerto Madryn or Trelew towards the Valdés Peninsula accompanied by a guide and a professional driver in comfortable local transportation.

At the entrance of the isthmus we will pay the entrance fees and our next stops will be the Isla de los Pájaros located in the San José Gulf. The area has a bathroom, a bird interpretation center, a replica of the Spanish fort chapel and the Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center. We will enjoy the native fauna, guanacos, choiques and bushes and also sheep, horses and cows from the peninsula ranches.

We will arrive before high tide to have a high chance of sighting orcas.

Season is from March to May and the months of October and November.
