Tombo Point

The tour begins at 7:30 a.m. at your hotels in Puerto Madryn or Trelew in comfortable vehicles and we head towards Punta Tombo, about 180 km away. It is a full-day excursion, accompanied by a specialized bilingual guide who will provide us with complete and updated information about the tour and Magellanic penguins.

Our first stop will be at the Patagotitan Mayorum, the largest dinosaur in the world made on a full scale at the entrance to the city of Trelew, about 63 km from Puerto Madryn.

Our first stop will be at the Patagotitan Mayorum, the largest dinosaur in the world made on a full scale at the entrance to the city of Trelew, about 63 km from Puerto Madryn.

After touring the modern Visitor Center and after 5 km aboard the vehicle, we will descend in front of the reserve to begin our 3 km round trip walk of mild difficulty. We will have time to observe their behavior in their natural habitat chosen by thousands of Magellanic penguins for its gentle slope to the sea and clay soil suitable for them to dig their nests. Depending on the date we can see them copulating, incubating their eggs or feeding their two chicks. Given the size of the reserve, we will be able to see cormorants, giant petrels, skuas, vapor ducks, oystercatchers, seagulls, as well as characteristic fauna of the steppe that coexist in the area such as guanacos, choiques, maras, and gray foxes.

The area has rest areas, bridges that allow birds to cross to the sea and viewpoints to appreciate them in their aquatic environment.

On our return we will be able to have lunch at the ranch's cafeteria to begin our return to the city of Puerto Madryn o Trelew.

Ideal for spending a family day in contact with nature with minimal physical demands, we offer you a complete traditional excursion to start your visit.

The reserve is open from September to mid-April.
